The inspiration; Halloween is such an entertaining time of year. When you see the kids on the street in their best costumes 'trick or treating.' When the TV schedules are full of a whole wide range of scary films, some good, some not so. And of course, all those Halloween related songs get a fresh reawakening. As a bit of a Karaoke King (??) I do love some of these tunes, and when you think about it, there have been just so many over the years. And that's why "All Hallows Serenade" exists. 

I hope that in some way, this innovative method of remembering all of these titles will take you back along the same trail of nostalgia that it did for me writing it.

I guess it's my way of commemorating these wonderful tunes for all of time. Or at least until Hell freezes over; Wha ha ha ha ha!

The inspiration; Some people have compared me to The Grinch in the past. "Mr Bah Humbug," they label me. 

But I think that's a little bit unfair. Let me explain. I've never had an issue with the Festive season per se. In fact, once it arrives, I love the sparkle of the annual celebration. The reason for my displeasure relates more to the fact that once the Summer Holidays are done and dusted, that's when Christmas begins! In the shops, in some people's houses and even on TV (Great Christmas Movies, you should look at a calendar!!) 

So when such a scenario is thrust upon us (me,) I deal with it the only way I can. You can read all about it by clicking the banner below.⬇️

The inspiration; When I drafted my poem "How Long Has That Christmas Tree Been There," I wanted it to create a flow into the aspect of the New Year celebrations but I realised that it would be impractical to merge the 2 topics in to just 1 piece of work. So I set out to leave the first in this duet of poems with a little bit of a 'cliff-hanger' ending, to allow the sequel to follow on in a very natural style.

So after the festivities was created to chase away the January Blues. Let's face it, the first month of the year for many can be disappointing  for many reasons; the return to work, lack of money having overspent during Christmas and generally a feeling of not very much to get excited about. And those negative feelings are what "After The Festivities" aims to embrace and hopefully, make them a little bit more pleasant to deal with!
