I hope that in titling this page "Breaks, Bugs & Bandages," I've given sufficient insight into the type of content featured here. Now I've generally been a fairly healthy, fitness conscious person but I've found recently that this regime can sometimes come at a price...

The inspiration; Having just returned from our Summer Holiday in South Wales (you can read more about this in the 'In-Tents Vacations' library, refer to "Welsh Rarebit.") I found myself with some rather unpleasant health issues, which led me to carry out a Covid-19 test for my own satisfaction. I'd not fallen victim to the dreaded virus since just before Christmas 2020 so I was rather anxious.
One of the ways I felt it necessary to deal with the aftermath was to put the experience in to words. Namely "Positively Negative." Needless to say I'll be much more cautious how closely I find myself to strangers when away on my annual vacations in future!

The inspiration; Nobody like being ill. Generally, I'm fortunate enough that even with a weakened immune system, I don't tend to succumb to illnesses very often but on this occasion, that seemed to be no longer the case. (First of a couple of occasions, the second being in the following month at the start of 2025!)
Whilst my writing is intended to be humorous and entertaining, I found myself looking for a much darker angle with this, with the sole aim of providing just a little bit of shock value. I hope that I managed to get that across in this particular rhyme.

The inspiration; The Badminton group I'm a founding member of were attending our last session of the year on Tuesday 17h December 2024. During my first game, which at this point I should add that my partnership were winning, I stepped back to return a high volley, only for my right foot to give way and help me to find the floor.
In a fair bit of pain, a trip to the hospital the day after showed no bones broke but a lot a swelling around my now heavily bruised ankle.
So with a bit of additional time off work, "Not Making A Racket" was the result of my extended down time. Please note that a certain amount of 'creative licence' has been applied to this work.
